Cultural Storytelling | City of Detroit

The Ramadan campaign was created to build more inclusive storytelling that reflected the diversity of Detroit’s communities. The goal was to show that Detroit is a city for all people while creating space for greater understanding around culture, faith, and shared experiences.

As Creative Director and Editor, I developed a social video reel centered around an interview with Khalil Muminun. The piece explored Ramadan as both a personal and communal experience, using storytelling to highlight themes of faith, discipline, and connection.

Through cinematic visuals and authentic conversation, the project focused on creating cultural awareness while showing how shared experiences can strengthen community across differences.

The content generated more than 44K views, reinforcing how culturally grounded storytelling can create meaningful connection and engagement at scale.
